PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) offers FREE English classes for newcomers and assists with the settlement process and integration into Canadian society. All locations provide Care for Newcomer Children (CNC) - for ages 19 months to 6 years - while parents are attending classes.

What you can expect from LINC:

  • Part-time and full-time classes are available year-round.
  • Some locations offer evening classes.
  • We offer classes in different language levels – from beginner to high-intermediate.
  • All locations are accessible by TTC. In some cases, some learners can even qualify for public transportation assistance.

REGISTRATION DETAILS

You must meet with a program counsellor for an assessment first. They’ll help you pick the right class.

  • Landed immigrant (not a Canadian citizen or visitor)
  • Or convention refugee (not a refugee claimant)
  • 18 years of age or older
