PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
As a student in the 16-week Apparel Fit Technician certificate program, you'll have the unique opportunity to learn skills that are in demand in alteration, retail, bridal, costume, and custom-fit studios. Master the art of diagnosing fit issues in ready-made garments, recommending adjustments to correct fit, and marking garments for alterations. We'll also equip you with customer service skills and knowledge of different fabrics, ensuring you're ready for the workforce.
This program will prepare you for entry level employment and experience in fashion related careers in alteration shops, retail and within the field of styling.
Successful graduates of the program will be prepared to take on product development, manufacturing and retail roles such as: fitting technician, product development assistant, styling, retail alterations.
REGISTRATION DETAILS
- The Apparel Fit Technician Fast Track module is a 1 semester (16 weeks) certificate program with start dates in January, May, July, and September
- The program is available at no cost to participants and includes all materials and tools needed to complete the program
- Includes a 100-hour work placement
- Classes take place at George Brown's Fashion Exchange (FX), at 63 Regent Park Blvd
